Electrolysis is the only FDA approved PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL METHOD. It has been around since 1875, to first treat an ingrown eye lash! A small, sterile, disposable probe is inserted into each individual hair follicle. This precise technique allows for hairs to be permanently destroyed.

*There are 2 popular treatments with electrolysis that are used today.Â
Thermolysis: Uses an alternating current (+/-) high frequency current. This current produces friction within the follicle causing destruction of the cells responsible for hair growth.Â
Blend Technique:Â Combines two types of electrical currents: Galvanic (direct) Current and Thermolysis (heat).Â
When these currents enter the hair follicle, they react with the natural salt and water (electrolyte) inside the skin. This reaction creates a small amount of lye, a highly corrosive chemical. The combination of heat and lye effectively destroying the hair.

Electrolysis is not more expensive than any other form of hair removal methods.
It just feels different because you’re paying upfront instead of over your life time.
With shaving, waxing, or threading, the cost never ends. It's forever.
With electrolysis, once the hair is gone - it’s GONE.
It may seem slower and a little more time consuming in the beginning, but the wait is worth it.
Â
Why do I need more than one session?
Hair grows in cycles. Each follicle moves through three stages - Anagen (growth), Catagen (transition), and Telogen (rest).
Electrolysis only works during the growth stage.
So at any one appointment, we’re treating the hairs that are ready - while others are still below the surface.
When those dormant hairs show up later, it can feel like regrowth. It’s not. They were always there - just not visible yet.
That’s why treatments are spaced out over time. We’re working with your body’s cycle, not against it.
With all the factors that come up with hair growth, time and cost is unpredictable. I will never tell you an exact amount or give you false promises on time.
Â
Pro Tip:
Shave about 3- 5 days before your appointment.
The hair should be around 2 mm long (about the size of a grain of rice) so it can be properly treated.
As sessions go on, you’ll notice a shift - less hair, slower growth, and shorter appointments. Those tweezers that are hiding in your car, drawers at home, pocket of your purse, will start seeing less of the light of day!
Â
Electrolysis requires time & patience. "It's not about the speed but the professionalism and technique of the treatment."Â

Hair Color, Skin Color, Hair Type does NOT affect whether you can have electrolysis or not. We will discuss what option is best for you during our first mandatory consultation . Â
Â
Lets talk Laser. Laser is a great option...if you are a good candidate. If you've had laser treatments in the past and are still experiencing growth, electrolysis is your only form of treatment.
Laser is considered hair reduction, not permanent hair removal. With laser, your follicle under the skin needs to have a dark bulb. If this bulb is lacking colour, the energy from the laser is not attracted to anything, resulting in no destruction.Â
Â
Pro tip. Tweeze about 4 hairs from the area. Check what the colour of the bulbs are. If they are dark, you're in luck for laser. If they are white grains of salt = No luck. 2/4 hairs= 50/50 approx reduction.
Â

Hair growth depends on several real factors - how much hair you have, how coarse it is, and whether or not you’ve done various forms of hair removal (tweezing, waxing, laser etc.). Hormonal influences like puberty, pregnancy, menopause, PCOS, or certain medications can also affect growth cycle of the hair.

Consistency also matters. Staying on schedule helps catch hairs in the right stage and keeps progress steady.
Appointments can range from 15 minutes to a couple of hours, depending on the area and what needs to be cleared.
During our consultation, we will come up with a plan that can work for both you and I.Â
Â
There are 3 phases to your electrolysis treatment plan.

Clearing phase -This phase requires coming in once a week to help keep the area consistently clear. Over this time, all visible hairs are removed. You may see hair pop up again shortly after. That’s normal - those hairs were underneath the skin waiting to pop through.
Control phase - hair starts coming in slower and finer. Appointments are less frequent (every 2 - 3 weeks) and usually a shorter session.
Finishing / maintenance phase - this is the clean-up stage. We’re targeting the last remaining hairs as they appear. Visits are typically once a month and much quicker.Â
Pain is a funny thing. Everyone experiences it differently, Everyone's tolerance is different. If you have ever had laser, waxing, a tattoo, tweezing, you can tolerate electrolysis. Each area is its own sensation. We will work together to find which modality works best for a efficient and comfortable treatment.

Pro Tip: A numbing cream can be applied to area 30 min before treatment. Emla cream is a popular choice.
Electrolysis Post-Treatment Care Guide
Thank you for choosing Cr Electrolysis Lounge for your permanent hair removal journey! Electrolysis opens the hair follicle, leaving the skin temporarily vulnerable to bacteria and irritation. Following these simple Do's and Don'ts for the next 24 to 48 hours will ensure safe, smooth, and rapid healing.
 What to Expect (Normal Reactions)
-
Redness, warmth, and swelling (resembling a mild sunburn).
-
Tiny red dots or minor swelling around the treated follicles.
-
Small, fine scabs or clear "lymph crusts" forming within a few days.
-
These symptoms are completely normal and typically disappear within hours to a few days.
The DO's: How to Care for Your Skin
-
Keep it clean: Gently wash the area twice a day with a mild, fragrance-free soap or cleanser. Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
-
Apply soothing gels: Use pure, alcohol-free aloe vera gel or witch hazel to calm irritation and cool the skin.
-
Use a cold compress: If you experience swelling or a stinging sensation, apply a cold water compress (not direct ice) to soothe the skin.
-
Wear sunscreen: Protect the healing skin by applying a gentle, broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily whenever you go outside.
-
Wear loose clothing: For body treatments, wear loose, breathable cotton garments to avoid friction and chafing.
-
Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water before and after your sessions to help your skin heal from the inside out.
-
Stick to your schedule: Return for your appointments exactly as recommended to catch hair cycles at the optimal stage.
The DON'Ts: What to Avoid
-
Do NOT pick or scratch: Let all minor scabs or crusts flake off naturally to completely avoid scarring or hyperpigmentation.
-
Do NOT touch the area: Keep your hands away from the treated zone to prevent transferring bacteria into open follicles.
-
Do NOT use makeup: Avoid all cosmetics on the treated area for 24 to 48 hours. (If you absolutely must, use freshly cleaned brushes and 100% pure mineral makeup).
-
Do NOT tweeze, wax, or thread:Â DO NOT pull the hair out by the root between sessions. You may only shave or trim the hair if needed.
-
Do NOT sweat or use heat: Avoid intense exercise, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and hot baths for 48 hours, as heat and sweat trigger breakouts and inflammation.
-
Do NOT apply harsh chemicals: Skip products containing alcohol, retinols, AHAs/BHAs, heavy oils, or perfumes until the skin is entirely healed.
-
Do NOT use deodorant: For underarm treatments, refrain from using deodorant or antiperspirant for 24 to 48 hours.
